New Blog, New beginnings!

May 03, 2020

A few months into our YouTube journey, we decided to get a website. At the time, we were super new to YouTube and we were learning how to navigate the world of being a Content Creator.

Around 3 months in, we decided that we needed a website. We didn't know what we were going to do with it, but we knew that we wanted something of our own.

At the time, we went with Square Space. It was easy to get started and build something professional looking. We were so excited to launch!

We should have a nice landing page where we can have a bio. Links to our YouTube channel. oh, and why don't we start a blog... you know, for backlinks

Yeah. That's what Andy said to Tia. OH... how naive. haha

As if being a YouTuber wasn't enough work, we started to do a small write up about all of our YouTube videos in order to give more detail about them. Well, 3 blogs in and we were already over our heads.

It was at this time we had to make some decisions. We weren't really keeping up with all our commitments, and felt like we were over reaching. It was then we decided to shut the blog so that we can focus on making the best content possible.

In the 12 months since we shut down the blog, we started to understand what it means to be a Content Creator. We're more organized, posting more often, engaging with the community, and we started to realize that we really need our own space on the internet where we can share more of our thoughts. You know, a place where people can follow along our journey. And it would be great if we can offer this in a different medium. We already have video... so... maybe something written?

So we're back to blogs! But! we're much more prepared than last time. In the last few months, we narrowed down what we need from our website. We sat down together and came up with some basic things that our website would need.

Vacation Days is now completely hosted and own by us and we're so glad to be back!
